PGDN Sentinel: Bringing External Security Scores to Discord

Simon Morley2 min read

At PGDN we believe security tools should meet operators where they already work. That's why we built PGDN Sentinel, a lightweight Discord bot that lets Sui node operators check their external security posture instantly - and benchmark against the rest of the network.

Why external security posture matters

What's exposed to the internet is what attackers see first: open ports, outdated software, misconfigured services. Sentinel scans from the outside in, surfacing risks that could otherwise be missed. Think of it as a mirror - showing how your validator looks from beyond the firewall.

The bot in action

Simple. Private. Instant.

PGDN Sentinel lives inside Discord. Just add the bot, type a slash command, and the results come back privately in your DMs. No dashboards, no logins, no complexity.

  • /info validator_id → see your validator's score
  • /claim validator_id → prove ownership and unlock enhanced analytics
  • /rescan validator_id → refresh your latest scan (coming soon)
  • /recommendations validator_id → get recommendations on securing your nodes (coming soon)

Prove ownership, unlock detail

With /claim, operators can validate their node via a one-time curl command. No keys, no secrets - just a quick way to confirm you control the validator. Once claimed, you'll get enhanced analytics and deeper context on exposures.

A new way to benchmark validators

Until now, security transparency in validator networks has been fragmented or nonexistent. With Sentinel, every operator can see their external security score in the same place - making it easier to raise the bar collectively.

Join the beta

We're releasing Sentinel as a v1.0.0-beta. It's early, but already powerful. We'd love your feedback as we expand scans and analytics.
